When you’re first getting started in IM, you’ll quickly discover that quite a few skills need to be learned. The attrition rate is very high in online marketing for many reasons, and perhaps some of those reasons is due to the high learning curve considering all the various tasks and skills that are required. If you’re at the point where you want to outsource, you probably know that you need to have a firm grasp of what needs to be done in the first place. Proper use of outsourcing can do wonders for your business, so we’ll talk some more about that.
What tasks you outsource is in some ways not that important, it’s the fact you have taken the steps. Sometimes you can get others to do simple tasks to free up your time, but often they will have skills or talents that you don’t have. I once spent ages posting awful adverts in Germany, using Google Translate and a german proxy, when I outsourced to a German student- both the quality and my returns shot up!
When it’s time to consider hiring, always ask for samples of previous work if they don’t have a website for you to check out. If the worker isn’t able to provide you 2-3 samples, then its better you look for someone else. You need to do what’s best for your business, that’s why you should only seriously consider those who are able to prove they can do the work.
You always want to try to verify the truth about what they say and show you. Not everyone can readily produce references for various reasons, however they may be able to show you testimonials or give you personal references. Common sense dictates that you should never offer any down payments for work if they cannot provide any kind of verification. The bottom line is that it’s your decision, so choose wisely. As a business owner, you can see how a person performs by offering a test assignment. You’ll do this, of course, before giving them something larger, or more complicated. This is an excellent approach to judge them as suitable or not for your needs. For example, if you need a certain number of articles written per month, then you can give several people smaller batches to see how they perform. The best approach is to gradually scale-up the level of responsibility, and you’ll be able to filter out anyone or keep them because you know they’ll do well for you. What’s great about this approach is it allows you to identify good workers, and then you can always hire them again as you need them.
Returning to those you have identified as good workers will allow you to outsource again with the knowledge it will be done right. Your outsource needs will not end, and you may end up keeping them for long term or contacting them again. The next step is to look into how you can outsource the other parts of your business and make it more hands free. If you free up more time, you can relax more or give more attention to expanding your business, etc. Overall, outsourcing your Internet marketing business will be one of the best decisions you make on the long term because it will give you the time and resources to build and grow your work.
